Insurance
Whenever
travelling outside your country, it is always a good idea to get
a travel insurance policy, which will cover medial, theft, or
loss for yourself and family. Be sure to check if it covers
sporting activities. Canada is tourist-friendly, but it’s best
to be prepared.
If you are
travelling in a rental car, rental companies will provide you
with details on car insurance during your vacation. The
insurance will be very helpful if you happen to be involved in a
car accident. The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA)
sells Visitor to Canada Insurance once you have arrived in
British Columbia.
BCAA is affiliated
with the American Automobile Association (AAA) and provides
information and roadside assistance. When calling for
information purposes, call toll free 1-800-663-4636.
If calling for
roadside assistance from Canada or the USA dial 1-800-CAA-HELP
(1-800-222-4357), from your mobile phone dial *222, and if you
are in the Vancouver area dial 604-239-2222.
