Taxes

In British Columbia we have two taxes, provincial sales tax (PST) and a goods and services tax (GST), which is a federal tax and is on most goods and services in Canada. Currently the PST is 7% and the GST is 5%.

Visitors can apply for a GST rebate upon departure from Canada. To apply for rebate, simply keep all your receipts and pick up a copy of the Tax Refund Application for Visitors at any customs office or most visitor centres.
